Gas Purification Systems

Gas purification systems are used to remove particulates and/or gases from industrial exhaust streams or to de-odourise sewage works gases.

The exhaust gases of combustion may contain substances considered harmful to the environment, and the implementation of gas purification systems may remove or neutralize those substances.

Popular gas purification systems like scrubbers are generally applied where hazardous, corrosive or bad smelling components in air or gas exhaust streams are to be removed or neutralized and for removing dust particles from these exhaust streams. Scrubbers can also be used for heat recovery from hot gases by flue gas condensation. Traditionally, the term scrubbers or gas washers have referred to pollution control devices that use liquid to wash unwanted pollutants from a gas stream. Recently, the term is also used to describe systems that inject a dry reagent or slurry into a dirty exhaust stream to "wash out" acid gases.

GEA 2H is one of the UK's leading suppliers of gas purification systems. GEA 2H's industrial mist eliminators, PLASdek™ are typically used in scrubbers which are one of the primary devices that control gaseous emissions, especially acid gases.
